Fish Eagle River Lodge

Fish Eagle River Lodge was named after the two breeding pairs of African Fish Eagles nesting on the banks of the Berg river, which forms one of the boundaries of this working olive, vine and vegetable farm. The tranquil setting offers both bed and breakfast and self-catering accommodation, set in beautifully landscape gardens with the imposing Elandskloof mountain range as a backdrop. The farm also has the only camping & caravan site in the Riebeek Valley, reserved for “grown-ups” with no children or pets allowed.

The camping and caravan sites offer a lawned field with shaded areas, next to the river – ideal for mature nature lovers looking for peace and tranquillity. Individual stands have electrical hook-ups, fresh water and braai facilities. A small ablution block provides showers and toilets. The communal swimming pool is the ideal place to relax on hot summer days. There is an Honesty Shack on site, with firewood, ice and some other basic items.

Here you can wake up to the sounds of the prolific bird life, breathe in the fresh country air and enjoy long walks on farm roads. Enjoy the lush garden, shaded veranda and sparkling swimming pool. Canoes are available to enjoy leisurely outings on the Berg River. Be amazed at the stars in the clear night sky and remember the haunting call of the Fish Eagle for a long time to come.
