Campsite Overview
Altyd Water is situated on a working farm in the beautiful Breede River valley on the banks of the Smalblaar River. It is a small campsite great for group bookings as it comes with a communal lapa with electrical points and picnic benches. It is limited on shade but is covered with beautiful soft grass. It has an established ablution block, although some-what basic it is functional and cleaned daily.

Beautiful part of the river
This campsite is basic but the surrounds are beautiful! The river is stunning and if you walk a little upstream there is a great swimming spot. However, there is a security guard that comes at night and when he did his rounds he insisted on walking straight through our campsite while we were braaing and eating…so that was a bit weird.
Very cool place.
Not too busy or even over new years which was nice. Not ideal for fishing, but very relaxing. Lots of shade. Fun for the kids (and grown ups) to play and swim in the river. Felt safe with security guards on site.
Great Surroundings
River is shallow, but the area is beautiful, and there was a huge variety of birds, take a bird book with.
