Bidstone Cottages

Nestled in the heart of Wild Mountain country near Barkly East, Bidstone offers a truly unique and rustic experience. For the adventurous self-sufficient camper, the Bidstone Campsite awaits you in the heart of true wilderness. There are no showers (bring your own), only a river for bathing, and an eco-toilet. They also feature three beautifully restored stone cottages, each equipped with en-suite facilities. For families and larger groups, they also provide a family-oriented farmhouse that can comfortably accommodate up to 15 guests.

The natural beauty of the one-acre garden, trout dam, and pristine setting provide peace and tranquillity. Whether you’re gazing at the brilliant stars while savouring pizza from their outdoor wood-fired oven or relaxing in a hammock and bird-watching as weavers nest by the water, you’ll find serenity in the surroundings. Families are more than welcome, and children can engage with free-range pigs, ride our miniature pony, and pick veggies from the garden. They’re also pet-friendly, so your furry family members are welcome too.

Bidstone Cottages serve as an ideal base after a day of adventure biking, skiing, or 4×4 touring the surrounding eight passes, exploring bushman paintings and more.
