Lylius is a pet-friendly campsite found on an organic rooibos and buchu farm in the Cederberg. The van der Westhuizen family, run, manage and maintain the grounds with committed, helpful and happy staff members.
The farm is located between the towns of Citrusdal and Clanwilliam – for the perfect authentic country experience surrounded by majestic mountain scenery. Peaceful getaway, a short 5km gravel road from the N7 to the farm, easily accessible with normal car.
Apart from the private, self-catering farm cottage with hot tub, there are several campsite options to choose from each with their own rustic ablution and functional kitchen. Sites are grassed and there is a communal swimming pool and braai lapa area at the end of the camp. Wood can be bought onsite and there is a farmstall a few kilometers down the N7 where you can buy basic supplies if needed.

Surprisingly charming
This spot exceeded my expectations. The owners made sure to come round and greet all the campers, which was a nice personal touch. And there is a lekker little hiking/jogging trail that takes you to a birds eye view of the farm with stunning views!
