Campsite Overview

Mountain Zebra National Park is located inland just over 250km away from Gqeberha. The park was officially proclaimed in July 1937 for the purpose of providing a nature reserve for the endangered Cape Mountain Zebra. Other mammals found in the boundaries of the park include caracal, Cape buffalo, black rhino, eland, black wildebeest, red hartebeest, gemsbok and grey rhebok. In 2007, the South African cheetahs were reintroduced to the area. In 2013 three lions have been released. A predator-proof fence prevents the large predators from entering neighbouring farmland. The camps in the park have been fenced as well. The park offers game drives as well as a unique opportunity to track the elusive Mountain Zebra National Park cheetahs on foot.

Accommodation options include family cottages, a guest house, overnight sleeping huts and a campsite with 20 stands. The campsite facilities include a swimming pool, communal ablution and a kitchen. Campsites are grass and are equipped with electrical points.
